Homage to Luna Vocational Institute on its 20th anniversary. Anselmo Arellano presents historical information about el Capitán Maximiliano Luna, a native from Valencia County but well known in Las Vegas. Captain Luna served in the Spanish-Cuban war and in the Philippines and was a well known member of the Road Raiders. El Campo de Luna was named after Captain Luna. Ray Cordova talks about the founder of the Luna Institute, Mr. Julio Lopez who worked diligently to start this educational center. Memories of how the Institute started in 1970 serving the youths of the region to train qualified technicians. As a founding employee of the institute, Ray Cordova remembers how it has grown and advanced with the time. Anselmo Arellano continues providing more historical information about the institute and offers the dedication of a room to former presidents who had served the institution in the last twenty years. Former presidents, study programs, and parents' support. The Luna Vocational Institute newspaper and satellite programs in northern New Mexico. The first president was Mr. J.M. Tejada, then Mr. Albert Sanchez, and Samuel F. Vigil who had been president since 1975 to the time of this event.
