Discussion topics: Family history, The Gorras Blancas movement led by her father, Juan José Herrera, along with Lorenzo López, and Félix Martinez. F. Martinez was a powerful man who owned - "La Voz del Pueblo" newspaper. In 1892, her father moved from Las Vegas to Albuquerque to run 'El Defensor del Pueblo' newspaper, a critical and activist local paper. Billy Green and Felipe Lopez assassinated her father. Her family was large, she had 13 siblings the only brother died as an infant.
