Abstract
The purpose of this study is descriptive and analytical: to introduce the reader to seven American statesmen as writers, and to trace the interrelation of their writing abilities to their successful achievement and exercise of power. Subsidiary aims are to present interesting samples of their better writing, and furnish bibliographical information on others.
