Abstract
Off the radar of most political observers, a new form of political engagement has taken hold among Latinos across the United States in the last Twenty years: what I will call faith-based community organizing.' Also called broad-based, congregation-based, and institutional organizing, it has become a potent force in organizing Histpanic urban residents to represent their interests in the public arena.'
