DATA & FILE OVERVIEW

File List: public-support-microgrid-services-readme.txt, readme and metadata file public-support-microgrid-services-simulation-code.do, simulation code in STATA format public-support-microgrid-services-log-file.smcl, log file from running simulation code in STATA public-support-microgrid-services-codebook.pdf, codebook for the survey data public-support-microgrid-services-online-survey.pdf, online survey with skip and display logic

Relationship between files, if important: -simulation-code.do should be used in conjunction with -data.dta.(note this file is not publicly available) -log-file.smcl is the result of this. -codebook.pdf provides the interpretations and questions for the variables.

Additional related data collected that was not included in the current data package: All data within this data package is primary.

METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Online convenience sample through the Qualtrics XM platform. Research services (sample collection) conducted through Qualtrics Research Services. Survey participants are electric rate payers who live in either Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, or Utah. Further information on the data collection and sampling procedure can be found within the Methods section of https://doi.org/10.1016/j.eneco.2022.106344

Methods for processing the data: The analyzed data were altered as to not included any personally identifiable information.

Instrument- or software-specific information needed to interpret the data: Any software can be used to view the survey data and codebook. The simulation code needs STATA, which is proprietary. Code is verified on STATA 16.1. In addition, there are two community packages that are needed to run the simulation code and are listed below.

st0085_2 from http://www.stata-journal.com/software/sj14-2

wtpcikr from http://fmwww.bc.edu/RePEc/bocode/w

Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: We oversampled New Mexico residents. To make the sample census representative, the “weight” variable is needs to be used as an importance weight. This is shown in the simulation code as well.

Environmental/experimental conditions: N/A

Describe any quality-assurance procedures performed on the data: N/A

People involved with sample collection, processing, analysis and/or submission: Qualtrics Research Serivces.
