Abstract
This research is centered around an expansion of an international human rights perspective, regarding the abolition of detention of asylum seekers in the United States. Borrowing from a socio-economic framework, demonstrating how social actions are translatable to economic impact implications, this work will illuminate a larger framework regarding the economic impacts of immigrant labor, particularly in the Ciudad-Juárez, Mexico - El Paso, Texas region regarding the caregiving, and healthcare workforces. The methodologies of this paper will be applicable to immigrant labor forces around the world, creating a larger understanding of how scholars and policymakers can identify the economic impacts of immigrant labor. This further exemplifies the need to end the detention of asylum seekers globally and in the United States.
