Abstract
It is the purpose of this paper to subject Jost's Law to a critical examination, as regards the method by which it was derived, the factors involved in the phenomenon to which it applies, and its validity as a scientific principle. This examination shall consist of a theoretical analysis based in part on an experiment designed in order to observe what may be termed the Jost phenomenon.
