Abstract

The phase relations and the kinetics of phase transitions in the solid -forms of cyclohexanol, cyclohexanone, chlorocyclohexane, bromocyclohexane, and cyclopentanol have been investigated. Cyclohexanol has been studied the most thoroughly; the other compounds have been considered largely for purposes of comparison with cyclohexanol. The primary methods of investigation have been the measurement of dielectric properties and visual observations. The transitions in cyclohexanol have also been followed photographically in order to measure the growth velocities of the phase interfaces.
