Abstract

This study treats the subject of aesthetic consciousness in terms of a phenomenological approach to modes of perception which can be said to constitute artistic vision. These include states of awareness variously described in the literature of aesthetics as empathy, aesthetic contemplation, reverie, or negative capability.
