Abstract
In 2018, Administrator Gina McCarthy, who ran the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) under President Barack Obama from 2013-2017, honored the University of New Mexico School of Law by speaking to a gathering of lawyers, students and community members about the role of lawyers in protecting the environment. Our symposium focused on “Hot Topics in Environmental Law,” which was also the central issue in Administrator McCarthy’s message. The editors of the Natural Resources Journal are pleased to share Administrator McCarthy’s poignant speech with our readership.
