The Profundo Heritage Archive is an oral biography project conducted by Frank Graziano, John D. MacArthur Professor Emeritus of Hispanic Studies, Connecticut College. The collection consists of interviews with one hundred participants who range in age from their twenties to their nineties and represent a variety of New Mexican lifestyles and regions. The interviews are generally one to two hours in length; all interviews were conducted by Frank Graziano except for one as identified in the description below. The collection also includes portraits of the participants and, in some cases, photographs of settings and artifacts. The interviews for this collection were conducted in two phases, in 2020 and 2021.
The Profundo Heritage Archive is a project of Nuevo México Profundo and was funded principally by Susan Foote and the Hutson-Wiley and Echevarria Foundation.
