Abstract
Written in 1973, as little more than an entry in a kind of personal journal, the piece reflects remembered visions from a camping trip with my wife in the Jemez Mountains. The melody of a Huron Carol haunted me for days. It reminded me of another spiritual landscape on this continent which had witnessed a fairly harmonious mix of Native American and European ideals. But the three movements reflect the 'feel' of the Jemez Mountains.
