Description

Dr. Lara-Bonilla explores how Gloria E. Anzaldúa understood writing as an embodied, transformative practice that dissolves boundaries between the physical, the intellectual, and the spiritual. Drawing on her archival and posthumous work, it reflects on how her experimental, genre-crossing approach challenges academic conventions and invites new ways of thinking, feeling, and writing. Tracing a long-term engagement with her work, the talk narrates how Anzaldúa’s commitment to preserving lived, “poematic” experience has reshaped Dr. Lara Bonilla’s own scholarly and creative practice, pushing it beyond institutional limits toward more expansive and responsive forms of expression.
