Barbara Blaha D. Pfeiler received her Ph.D. in Romance Philology from the University of Viena and she completed postdoctoral work at the University of Hamburg in Mesoamerican Studies.She is research faculty at CEPHCIS (Centro Peninsular en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, UNAM) in Yucatan, Mexico where she conducts research on variation in Mayan languages.

Part II. "Language Practices of Bilingual Families in a Maya Community in Quintana Roo, Mexico"

Dr. Jaime I. Chi Pech

Jaime I. Chi Pech received his Ph.D. in lndoamerican Linguistics at CIESAS (Centro de Estudios Superiores en Antropologia Social) in 2021. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at CEPHCIS (Centro Peninsular en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales, UNAM), where he is studying Spanish-Maya bilingualism in a Maya community in Quintana Roo, Mexico.
