Join us for the next talk in the Indigenous Politics in the Face of the New Right Lecture Series with Josi Tikuna.
Josi Tikuna (Josiane Otaviano Guilherme), is a researcher in anthropology who graduated from the Institute of Nature and Culture at the Federal University of Amazonas, Brazil. She coordinates the Project Agrovida-Naãne Arü Mãü and collaborates with Brazil’s Indian National Foundation (FUNAI-CRA-AS). As an active member of the Indigenous movement, she has presided over the indigenous students’ commission at the Ministry of Education and Culture. She is the author of various articles on Tikuna queer Sexualities.
In The Cry for Help of the Women of the Territory of Rio Solimões, Josi will discuss the human rights violations occurring in the territory of Rio Solimões in Brazil.
