Description
Anne Kraemer will offer her insights on The Maya Health Alliance | Wuqu’ Kawoq, which is a community-based organization dedicated to breaking down barriers to health for all Guatemalans so that high-quality care, health, and well-being are within reach for everyone. The alliance advance lasting changes in healthcare delivery across rural Guatemala by training and equipping indigenous community health workers to deliver comprehensive care in patients’ communities and homes. As one of the only organizations in Guatemala providing care in indigenous Mayan languages, the Maya Health Alliance conducts 30,000 patient visits annually. Their program areas include women’s health, primary care, early childhood health, maternal & infant health, and chronic disease care.
