Description
Medical Informatics is a relatively new field and involves implementing Electronic Health Records (EHR), Computerized Medical Decision-Making, Public Health, and Genomics. The University of Utah has been involved in educating over 200 health care professionals in this field over the past 4 decades. This presentation shares Dr. Gardner's experience in a collaborative Informatics education program that has resulted in exciting interactions between information scientists and clinicians. Examples of successes with these professions will be discussed.
