Abstract

Public Welfare Statistics is a statistical report series issued by the New Mexico Department of Public Welfare documenting public assistance and welfare services throughout the state. Reports present statewide and county-level data on program expenditures, recipients, benefit payments, applications, and caseloads. Coverage includes assistance for older adults, dependent children, and people with disabilities, as well as general assistance and related welfare services. Depending on the issue, additional tables address child welfare, medical care, food commodity distribution, child labor, and juvenile court activity. Monthly figures and selected historical comparisons provide a record of welfare administration, program participation, and public spending in New Mexico. This issue covers September 1956.
