Abstract

This report presents the results of a survey of Navajo Nation residents employed near or on the reservation, examining employment characteristics, occupations, training needs, commuting patterns, mobility preferences, education, income, language use, and household demographics. Conducted by the University of New Mexico Bureau of Business and Economic Research, the study was designed to assess workforce conditions and opportunities for economic development in and around the Navajo Nation during the late 1970s.
