Abstract
The reign of Edward I of England has been the subject of much historical research, ranging from legal reforms, political administration, and constitutional development to wars, international relations, and financial policies. It is with one aspect of this latter subject that the present work is concerned; namely, the integration of ecclesiastical appointments with the administrative expenses of the government. Although no general study of presentations or benefices has been made, the present work aspires to be a much more modest project, i.e., an analysis of royal presentations, to determine what part they played in the policies of King Edward during a ten-year period.
