Abstract
So many volumes have been written about this sensational playwright that one hesitates to add to the number. it is, however, remarkable that no one to my knowledge has ever made a complete analysis of Shavian women, their problems, and Shaw's view of their true position in society. Joseph McCabe has pointed out, "How the most characteristic feature of Shaw's revolt, and the one most scantily treated by his biographers, is his position in regard to woman and the family."
