Abstract

The purpose of the study was to survey teachers currently employed in junior high or middle schools to determine their recommendations regarding the undergraduate and graduate education of teachers who wish to teach in the middle grades, and to develop a model program derived from their recommendations, as well as the recommendations of principals and authorities in the field.
