Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of Teacher Effectiveness Training (a human relations program developed by Thomas Gordon) on the attitudes of pre-student teachers in language arts as measured by scored on the Minnesota teacher Attitude Inventory (MTAI), Rokeach Dogmatism Scale (RDS). Teaching Situation Recreation Test (TSRT), and Public Opinion Questionnaire E (E Scale).
The population for the study consisted of 29 pre-student teachers with language arts majors or minors, enrolled in the course Secondary Education 361 during the fall semester, 1971, at the University of New Mexico. These students planned to practice teach during the spring, 1972. From this population of 29, 24 subjetcs were randomly selected and administered pretests of the MTAI, RDS, TSRT, and E Scale at the beginning of the fall semester, 1971.
