Abstract
From Chapter 1:
There has been a large increase in number typewriting In the last decade and a half. The demand for statistical typists and other clerical positions involving the typewriting of numbers is greater than ever before. In modern business offices specialized typists are hired to prepare statistical reports, billings, payrolls, bookkeeping machine reports, IBM programs and general reports. There has also been an Increased use of numbers in ordinary business correspondence.
