Abstract
A common method used to realize high-order active filters is to cascade second-order (biquadratic) and first-order filter sections, to achieve the desired voltage transfer function. First-order sections are easily realized by simple passive sections; the basic building block in this method is, therefore, a network that realizes a general biquadratic voltage transfer function (BVTF).
