On the first page Hillerman notes that this proposal caused some confusion as the story changed so much as it was written when the editor wrote the jacket copy based on this proposal, Hillerman didn't recognize it.

This draft appears to be a copy of manuscript draft (B), showing most of the same editing marks (though draft (B) does contain some added story text that does not appear manuscript draft (C)). However, this draft includes a style sheet, a list of personal names and a list of unconfirmed geographical locations used in the story as part of the front matter.
