As CLAHR begins its 1994 subscription year, we wish to express our appreciation to our subscribers for their gracious support, and to the scholars who have placed their trust in CLAHR to present their works in the best professional light. We look forward to a new and fruitful year and welcome any suggestion you, our readers, may have to continue the standards CLAHR has established in presenting a publication dedicated to the colonial period of Latin America.
