Abstract
The antitumor activity of 8-azaguanine (5-amino-7-hydroxy-v-triasolo([d] pyrimidine) (A) prompted the preparation of the imidazo-[4, 5-d] pyridazine ring system (B). In this ring the two nitrogen atoms are adjacent in the six-membered ring with the five-membered imidazole ring remaining the same as in the parent purine ring (C).
