Abstract
Although a great deal of experimental data are available on many of the factors involved in a concrete mix design, a limited amount of work has been done to determine the effect of the surface characteristics of the concrete aggregates. Some research has been done in this connection by the New Mexico Highway Department. Some of the results of this research are included in a later section of this thesis.
