Images of Catholic saints used in Candomblds which represent various orixas. The African slaves managed to continue to practice their religious beliefs by disguising their African orixas on altars as Catholic saints. By superimposing a saint on an orixa. Catholics could pray to their saint while the slaves invoked their orixas.Imagens de santos católicos usados no Candomblé e que representam vários orixás. Os escravos africanos conseguiram continuar a praticar suas crenças religiosas disfarçando os orixás africanos nos altares de santos católicos. Sobrepondo um santo a um orixá, os católicos poderiam adorar seus santos, enquanto os escravos invocavam seus orixás.
