36) The Aterro do Flamengo, which stretches along the Guanabara Bay from downtown Rio to the Botafogo district contains numerous parks, museums and monuments which were built on land recovered from the sea. Both the Glória and Flamengo districts which lie adjacent to the parks contain various sumptuous buildings from the early part of Twentieth century.36) O Aterro do Flamengo, que se estende ao longo da Baía da Guanabara do centro até o bairro de Botafogo, abriga inúmeros parques, monumentos e museus, que foram construídos em terras recuperadas ao mar. Tanto no bairro Glória como no Flamengo há vários edifícios suntuosos do começo do século XIX.
