Located between the sea and the mountains, Rio de Janeiro remains one of the most beautiful cities of the world. The Cidade Maravilhosa (Marvelous City), as it is affectionately called, is the second largest city in Brazil (nearly 5 million inhabitants) and until 1960 it was the capital of the nation.2) Baía da Guanabara vista da estátua do Cristo Redentor, no topo do morro do Corcovado. Ao fundo vê-se a cidade de Niterói. Localizado entre o mar e as montanhas, o Rio de Janeiro continua uma das mais belas cidades do mundo. A Cidade Maravilhosa, como é afetuosamente chamada, é a segunda maior cidade do Brasil (aproximadamente 5 milhões de habitantes), e entre 1762 e 1960 foi a capital do país.
