Description
47. Cultura açucareira (Sugar Growing), 1936-45. This fresco mural by Portinari was commissioned by the Brazilian governrnent for the Ministry of Education in Rio de Janeiro and shows cane field workers for one of Brazil's major export crops. The building was one of the important government commissions of the post-war period.
