Description
20. Natureza morta (Still-life), 1889. This still-life, painted more than thirty years later by Roberto Estévão, demonstrates the endurance of the geme and the style in which the recently living fruits and foliage contrast with the surrounding empty darkness: a nature study and symbolic memento mori, a reminder of our own mortality.
