Description
Wheat and soybeans are planted in large quantities on farms such as these in northern Paraná. The topology of northwestern Paraná is similar to that of São Paulo with terra roxa soils and tabular plateaus which slope toward the Paraná river basin. Most of the vegetation is of floresta tropical the type of the Southeast, though most of it has been cleared for agriculture. Areas of cerrado vegetation (mixed semi-arid brush and grass) are also found and the climate is characterized by distinct, prolonged rainy and dry seasons.
