Description

The lago Negro (Black Lake) in Gramado (RS). Many of the immigrants that arrived in this region planted a large variety of European pine trees, fruit trees and other plants. Given the high elevation and temperate climate, these species adapted relatively easily. The Southern region has a temperate climate influenced by south polar air currents, which create frosts and sporadic light snow in the higher elevations. Unlike most other regions in Brazil, annual rainfall is fairly well distributed, yet there are distinct differences between summer and winter temperatures. In contrast to the chilly winter months, the summer is often witness to heat waves.O Lago Negro em Gramado (RS).
