Map slide depicting the Southeast region. The Southeast region comprises of the states of Espírito Santo (ES), Minas Gerais (MG), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and São Paulo (SP). It covers 11% of Brazil (924,935 sq. km). Despite its comparatively small geographic size, it is the most economically developed region in South America and is responsible for nearly 60% of the Brazil's GNP. The Southeast is also the most populated region in the nation with a little less than 44% of the total population in 1986.Slide do mapa mostrando a região Sudeste. Apesar de seu pequeno tamanho, quando comparada a outras regiões, ela é economicamente a mais desenvolvida região do Brasil e da América do Sul, sendo responsável por aproximadamente 60% do Produto Nacional Bruto (PNB).
