Description
Canon in front of the Santa Maria fort at sunset in Salvador. Pedro Alvares Cabral discovered Brazil in 1500, disembarking at Porto Seguro in southern Bahia. In the years following discovery, sporadic expeditions exploited a native redwood known as (brazilwood) found in coastal tropical forests of the zona da mata.Canhão em frente ao Forte de Santa Maria ao pór do sol em Salvador.
