Description
An old man reading a book next to his sack of belongings in the street in Belo Horizonte. Many who live in the street are older people or children. Life expectancy has increased from 42 years in 1952 to about 63 since 1985. The lack of government sponsored retirement homes often transforms older homeless people into marginal members of society.
