From the ranks of the members of the Candomble both men and women "oguns" are selected. The oguns are lay people who perform specific functions to insure that the cults can operate. Among these tasks is the music that accompanies the dancing and singing, which is performed by men.Homens e mulheres "oguns" são selecionados do corpo de membros do candomblé. Os oguns são pessoas leigas que desempenham funções específicas para o bom funcionamento do culto. Entre suas incumbências encontra-se a música que acompanha as danças e cantos, a qual é executada por homens.
