Aerial view of Recife (Pernambuco), located in the Northeast region. This region continues to be the poorest of the country and adverse climatic conditions in the form of prolonged droughts, rural labor surplus and skewed landownership patterns have helped increase the flow of migrants from this region to other parts of Brazil. lndustrialization has attracted thousands of new immigrants each year to the large metropolitan areas, especially in the Southeast.Vista aérea de Recife (Pernambuco), localizado na Região Nordeste. Esta região continua a ser a mais pobre do país. Condições climáticas adversas na forma de secas prolongadas, mão de obra rural excessiva e distorcidos padrões de propriedade têm ajudado a aumentar a emigração desta região para outras partes do Brasil. A industrializaçao tem atraído milhares de novos imigrantes cada ano para as áreas metropolitanas maiores, especialmente no Sudeste.
