Carnival parade in Salvador (Bahia). Carnival and soccer are national passions which have always motivated most Brazilians, unlike politics which have been restricted (as during the recent military regime) or have disillusioned many Brazilians due to corruption and incompetence. Voting is still compulsory in Brazil.Parada de carnaval em Salvador (Bahia). Carnaval e futebol são as paixões nacionais, as quais têm sempre motivado a maioria dos brasileiros, ao contrário da política, que tem sido restringidas (como durante o recente regime militar), ou tem desiludido muitos brasileiros por causa da corrupção e incompetência.
