PoliticaI poster s for the presidency campaign of a major labor union in Maringá (Paraná). Strengthened by Vargas, who used them to generate politicaI support, labor unions are still influential in Brazil, especially in the industrial districts in the Southeast, such as São Paulo. They were among the first groups to openly defy the military regime in the late 1970s. Labor laws which control the minimum wage, social security system and medical assistance still remain strong in Brazil.Cartazes políticos para a campanha à presidência de um sindicato importante em Maringá (Paraná). Fortalecidos por Vargas, que os usou para gerar apoio político, os sindicatos dos trabalhadores ainda são influentes no Brasil, especialmente nos distritos industriais no Sudeste, como São Paulo. Eles estavam entre os primeiros grupos que desafiaram abertamente o regime militar, no final dos anos de 1970. As leis trabalhistas, as quais controlam o salário mínimo, o sistema de previdência social e assistência médica, permanecem fortes no Brasil.
