Crocodiles resting on Vitória Régias. Over 700 species of mammals and 1,800 types of birds inhabit the Amazon forests. There are few large predators and the animals that best survive in the region are those that can c1imb into the forest vegetation or swim along the river where food and light exist.Jacarés descansando nas Vitórias Régias. Mais de 700 espécies de mamíferos e 1.800 tipos de pássaros habitam a floresta amazónica. Há poucos animais predatores de grande porte e os animais que melhor sobrevivem na região são aqueles que podem subir pela vegetação ou nadar ao longo dos rios onde existem alimento e luz.
