Description

Boats lined along the wharves of the old section of the port area. Located on the southern bank of the Amazon river, along the Guamá tributary and a little less than 150 kms from the ocean, Belém is considered the gateway to the Amazon river. It is the capital of the state of Pará and today has a population of some 1.2 million inhabitants.Barcos alinhados ao longo do cais da parte velha da área do porto. Localizada na margem sul do Rio Amazonas, ao longo do tributário Guamá e a pouco menos de 150 km do oceano, Belém é considerada a porta para o Rio Amazonas. É a capital do estado do Pará com uma população de cerca de 1.2 milhões de habitantes.
