A Shell gas station in downtown Sao Paulo. As already mentioned earlier, foreign multinationals settled in Brazil in large numbers since the 1950s, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. The recent recession has curtailed direct foreign investment, though most multinationals agree that given the country's population, resources and economy, it remains as one of most important and promising nations in the developing world.Um posto de gasolina Shell no centro de São Paulo. Como já foi me ncionado anteriormente, multinacionais se instalaram no Brasil em grande número desde a década de 1950, especialmente nas décadas de 1960 e 1970. A recente recessão tem reduzido investimentos estrangeiros diretos, embora grande parte das multinacionais concorda que, em função da população do país, recursos e economia, o Brasil é ainda um dos mais importantes e promissores páises do mundo em desenvolvimento.
