Trio eletrico (vehicle on which bands play) in the midst of the dancing crowd during carnaval. Samba is the most popular form of Afro-Brazilian music and it appeared as an urban carnival dance in the early Twentieth century in Rio de Janeiro. Today no longer limited to carnaval, it is a national musical form with many regional versions. The carnaval in Salvador is considered by many to be among the more lively and authentic forms of Afro-Brazilian music and dance.Um trio elétrico (veículo sobre os quais bandas tocam) no meio da multidão dançando durante o carnaval. O samba é a forma mais popular de música afro-brasileira, e apareceu como uma dança urbana carnavalesca no começo do século XX. Hoje náo mais limitado ao carnaval, o samba é uma forma musical nacional com muitas versões regionais. O carnaval em Salvador é considerado por muitos brasileiros como uma das formas mais animadas e autênticas da dança e música afro-brasileira.
