Abstract
In an effort to understand malignancies, a number of studies have been made on the quantitative aspects of the effects of synthetic carcinogenic hydrocarbons on microorganisms. The molecular similarities of these synthetic carcinogens and natural products such as the estrogens, the androgens, cholic acid, vitamin D and others have stimulated a great deal of interest in investigation of the possible carcinogenic nature of these natural products.
