Abstract
An analysis of economic conditions in Silver City, New Mexico, commissioned for its MainStreet development program. The MainStreet district and the Silver City regional trade area are described and illustrated. Selected demographic, housing, and economic characteristics of Silver City and Grant County are examined. Using location quotients and pull factors, the authors assess the local economys strengths and weaknesses. The report concludes with a discussion of opportunities and challenges for the area. Illustrated with tables, charts, and maps.'
