Abstract
This report analyzes historical and projected population trends in nine New Mexico water planning regions from 1960 through 2060. Using demographic projections based on fertility, mortality, migration, and economic conditions, the study evaluates long-term growth patterns affecting regional water planning, with particular emphasis on rapidly growing metropolitan regions such as the Albuquerque area and slower-growing rural and energy-dependent regions.
